My Serendipitous Idea for 2008

Every so often, I get an idea.  A really good idea.  A really good idea about something that I could sell to the general public, and make tons of cash. 

Many times, like when the same joke is made by two people, it’s something that many people come up with, but it takes the person with the knowhow, the marketing, and the capital to put it into play.

I only have the idea.

Wow, this one really works

You know I’ve always liked the your X is type games.

Like, to create your Soap Opera name: First, take your middle name (In my case Joseph), and combine it with with the name of the street you live on, omitting the word road, street, avenue (in my case Sturbridge), and you come up with your Soap Opera name: Joseph Sturbridge.

So my band is:  Great Railway Journeys

My first album is titled: Legislature is in Session

I’m thinking kindof a singer/songwriter vibe with a real modern bluegrassy influence and a touch of Irish music added in for good luck. Wha cha think?

Just a few assorted thoughts.   I really need to find some new information or something.  Either that or become more interesting.  Never mind

Metal Gear

Well, I think I have an idea of how to pull off the acquisition of Metal Gear Solid 4 into the household, and still fit my budgetary concerns.  I mean, even though I have basically been given the green light from my wife to purchase the 80 GB MGS4, I can’t do it.  Spend over $500.00 on something that I will play occassionally when my wife goes up to bed before me? 

(Plus, she’d want to spend $500 on something that she wanted, then… never minding the $800 hutch in our kitchen)

Secondly, I know I’ve been lax in my music hipness, even with artists that I love.  So it’s not surprising that Joe Satriani has come out with a new album a few months ago.

But it’s called Professor Satchafunkilus and the Musterion of Rock.

I mean, that’s just tremendous.

It rocks too!

And onto November…

Okay, I’m not going to turn this into a political blog. I don’t follow it quite enough.

I am happy that Obama has won the nomination, and to a degree am happy that Hillary lost it. And I thought that Obama gave another hell of a speech last night. But on this day, more than I hope that Obama is the next President of the United States (don’t get me wrong, John McCain still has 5 months to change my mind), I hope the following, as stated by Barack Obama last night in his speech, hold true for both the Democrats and the Republicans:

But what you don’t deserve is another election that’s governed by fear, and innuendo, and division. What you won’t hear from this campaign or this party is the kind of politics that uses religion as a wedge, and patriotism as a bludgeon

Ummm…  There is no other way to describe the following news… but “FUCK YEAH!!!!!!!!!!”

My goodness: Hagar, Satch, Anthony, and Chad Smith.  Just the possibilities of the songs that Hagar and Satch can come up with together in a studio. 

This should be lots of fun. 

But I’m not truly going to believe it until I see it on Satch’s website.

And for those of you who don’t know…  Joe Satriani is an unrecognized heavy metal six-string god.
